JPFolks Album NomineeJust Plain Folks Awards Diary

Saturday, November 6th

Daytime relaxing
The day was mostly spent just relaxing.  With no responsibilities until the evening, we were able to do a little sight seeing to the Crystal Cathedral, Target, and the nearby 7/Eleven.  What fun!

Pre-show concert at Martini Blues Supper Club
Saturday evening featured a pre-awards concert, with performances by many of the nominated artists.  It was hosted at the Martini Blues Supper Club, a little place hiding in a strip mall on the edge of Little Saigon near Huntington Beach.  There were a few problems in the beginning, but once they got solved, the evening was quite successful.  Much good music to hear, and many new connections made.  What everyone seemed to agree on was that  even when a particular artist wasn't your favorite music, it was all done so well that you enjoyed it anyway!  A definite win for all.
